Eddie Aikau 09

Sign of the times, We moved our entire office across the street for a week with the forecast of a "Bigger then 1969 swell".. in 69 the waves knock our beach house off in blocks and into the street. Thanks be to God, he spared us this time, an early Christmas gift I'm calling!

Kelly Slater and Twiggy Baker Peeking through the fence, this is the angle we used to shoot all the time in the 80's before the gate went up.

With access in the 4 front yards on the point limited to the the Surf industry elite, many civilians risked it all to get a closer look.. by far the best view is on the the internet and now even cable TV, much safer and no traffic to fight!

Kelly Slater and a friend share an early morning beauty... as the crow fly' s.

Kohl Christensen wipeout, you should se the sequence!

The arena, Kelly stets the stage for a full day rock concert, complete with traffic jams and end trails of people waking for miles to see the show.

Greg Long, pulled down a monster late in the day to slip past Slater at the bell.

If you say you hate jet skis, you have never surfed wave big enough that they look like angels coming on the clouds.

Kohl Christensen, rides one to the beach... the crowds would roar like NASCAR at the sight of any surfer coming in close enough to get a good look.

Reef Mcintosh, a really big guy... looking kinda small. The Bay Is a very humbling place.
